Production Engineer
Location: Boston, MA-area
General Description: Responsible for the manufacturing processes used in the production of photoimagable thick dry film products. Ensure that the day-to-day operations of dry film production functions smoothly by maintaining product and raw material inventory and obtaining the maximum potential from the equipment and the workforce.
The position involves developing, improving and troubleshooting process-related production processes. Additionally, the position is responsible for developing alternative production methods, improving costs and raw material options for existing processes to improve overall production performance and product quality. Information coordination and communications, developing capital improvement programs and specifying equipment upgrades are key parts of this position.
The candidate should be able to:
- Check for major processing issue and develop corrective measures for problems
- Develop cost reduction options for existing processes and equipment
- Develop manufacturing equipment improvements for plant operation
- Develop plans for adding new equipment and prepare SOPs
- Create and maintain CoAs for production runs
- Train operators on the use of current and new equipment
- Effectively address customer concerns and questions
- Prepare plans for batch execution, including maintaining proper raw material needs, ensuring that they are ready when needed and notification to line personnel and Purchasing of their status
- Ability to envision new system requirements
- Ability to plan, construct, startup and operate new plant equipment
- Other duties as required
- Travel to Asia (immediately after hiring)
Skills/Experience Needed:
- Chemical Engineering background preferably with Hot Melt coating experience
- Excellent communication skills with team members and customers
- Engineering background with Hot Melt coating experience (Desirable)
- Software: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word) (Required)
- AutoCAD, project management software, and others (Valuable)
- Current knowledge of equipment, systems, and sourcing
