July 1st, 2020 – micro resist technology (MRT) GmbH of Berlin, Germany and DJ MicroLaminates, Inc. of Sudbury, Mass. today announced they have reaffirmed their long-standing distribution partnership which centers on sales of thin and thick dry film photoresist materials. Both companies are dedicated to bringing innovative dry film to the microfluidics, MEMS, semiconductor, consumer and bio-medical device manufacturers in Europe. Both companies share a focus on these markets and the expectation that they will grow significantly in the near term and into the future.
DJ MicroLaminates’ SUEX® and ADEX® thin and thick dry film sheets, and ADEX thin dry film sheets and rolls, are photo-imageable epoxy for plating, wafer level packaging and MEMS applications. The sheets have a photoresist formulation containing an antimony-free photoacid generator, and are prepared under a highly controlled solvent-less process, which provides uniform coatings. It is therefore “green”. The sheets also exhibit adhesion to a wide variety of substrates, including silicon, silicon nitride, copper, gold, aluminum, glass, polymers, other metals and oxides.
MRT is a recognized leader in the development, production and marketing of innovative photoresists, polymers, photopolymers and ancillaries. The company’s products are applied in key technologies such as microsystems technologies, microelectronics, micro- and nano-photonics engineering, as well as in various life sciences applications. Based on its extensive hands-on process experience and its technical processing capabilities, MRT offers basic lithographic micro and nanopatterning services and collaboration opportunities for the mutual dry film customers to find tailored process solutions.
Commenting on the partnership, Don Johnson, founder and Chief Executive Officer of DJ MicroLaminates, said: “We have an excellent long-term partnership with MRT to distribute both our thin and thick films for European markets. As worldwide demand for our films expand into diverse electronics, defense, semiconductor, IoT sensors, microfluidics and other technology segments, MRT is an important part of our distribution network with strong photoresist and technical process expertise, sales skills and customer relationships.”
Gabi Grützner, CEO, micro resist technology GmbH adds, “DJ MicroLaminates products are highly innovative thin and thick photoresist dry films. Our partners’ deep engineering production expertise is uniquely complimentary to MRT’s product and technology portfolio. We are proud to be able to use our collaboration to help bring the advantages of DJ MicroLaminates dry film’s into focus for European markets.”
